Code of Practice

All schools in New Zealand placing international students have to agree to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code and on line information are available on request from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website www.minedu.govt.nz    

Immigration

Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights regarding employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service and can be viewed on their website at www.immigration.govt.nz. 

Customs

Be aware to check that you are not bringing any prohibited substances into New Zealand by checking the N.Z. Customs website http://www.customs.govt.nz/importers/Prohibited+imports/default.htm 

Insurance

It is compulsory for all international students coming to study in New Zealand to be covered by health insurance.   STB Pacific’s high school program includes in the price comprehensive health insurance to protect our students – Southern Cross Travel Insurance. Please see more details about their coverage and how to use the insurance on their website: www.internationalstudent.co.nz The insurance policy card will be given to the students when they arrive in Auckland and our team of coordinators will assist the students on how to claim their expenses back and on how to use the insurance properly.

Education New Zealand is the government recognised industry body for
export education in New Zealand. STB Pacific works with Education New
Zealand and is a Specialist Agent for New Zealand.
