The STB Pacific team in New Zealand is based in both the North and South Islands to assist our students closely.
Management
Claudia Pinto-Powell (Director) – Brazilian, born in Diamantina / Minas Gerais.
c.powell@stbpacific.co.nzClaudia lived in Belo Horizonte since she was seven. After studying Teaching and Business Administration she started her career and bond with STB as Overseas Course Advisor when she was 21 years old. Nine years of working in the Brazilian educational tourism sector led her to move to New Zealand to improve her English. Since then she has returned to Brazil on a regular basis for business and holidays. She has been living in the North Island for over 12 years and is STB Pacific’s managing director.
Administration
Chevaun Nel (Office Manager) – Zimbabwean, born in Harare / Zimbabwe / Africa.
chevaun@stbpacific.co.nzChevaun lived in Harare where she completed a Beauty Therapist course and started a mechanical and engineering company with her husband Matt. She attended several computer, secretarial and accounting courses before moving to New Zealand in 2002, aged 30. She now studies Social Anthropology at Massey University and oversees STB Pacific's High School administrative operations.
Student Welfare Coordination
Elisabete Stowers-Hull - Brazilian, born in São Paulo.
elisabete@stbpacific.co.nzElisabete lived in São Paulo where she graduated in Portuguese Language and Portuguese and Brazilian Literature and taught Portuguese for 13 years. In 1994 she moved to New Zealand and studied Tourism. Elisabete started her career in New Zealand in 2000 teaching Portuguese at Auckland University for nine years. In 2001 she entered the student coordination field. Three years later Elisabete decided to widen her knowledge in this area and accepted a role to work with international students in the International Student Department of St. Peter’s College in Auckland. She currently works as a Student Welfare Coordinator in the STB Pacific team.
Sandra Flessak Santos – Brazilian, born in Cascavel / Paraná.
sandra@stbpacific.co.nzSandra lived in Cascavel and moved to Curitiba when she was 14. She graduated in Physical Education in 2001 and then moved to New Zealand. Sandra worked as a Personal Trainer and Physical Education Teacher in several high schools before joining the STB Pacific team as a Student Welfare Coordinator.
Henrique Rupp – Brazilian, born in Rio de Janeiro and
Christiane Rupp – Brazilian, born in Santa Catarina.
rupp@stbpacific.co.nzHenrique lived in Rio where he graduated in Medicine having worked in the public and private health sectors in Brazil and Germany. In 2003 he moved with his family to Christchurch where he has been working as Translator and Interpreter. He is currently studying Theory and Pratice of Translation at postgraduate level at the University of Canterbury.
Christiane graduated in Portuguese and German Languages and Literatures in Porto Alegre and moved to Rio where she worked as Teacher and Translator. She later lived and studied in Germany before settling in Christchurch in 2003. Christiane works as a Research Contracts Advisor at the University of Canterbury.
The couple shares their STB Pacific Student Welfare Coordinator role.
